Educational and Psychological Testing for Ages 6 Through Young Adulthood

A Little About Us

Why Choose Gained Insight?

Parents want to do all they can to help their children feel good about themselves and reach their full potential. For many children, the path to this reality is not clearly defined. Often others cite a lack of motivation, when in fact, the solution can be found in arming children with the tools or skills they may lack. Assessment is the detective work used to accurately identify factors impacting your child. It is the critical first step towards determining effective interventions and creating a positive plan of action for you and your child.

Dr. Katherine Nitz, a licensed clinical psychologist, specializes in testing for children and young adults. She will help parents and their children gain a deeper insight into the child’s unique learning styles and emotional functioning. She will also discuss specific tools and interventions to address their current needs.

  • This is a private assessment which is not influenced by outside pressures to limit diagnoses or recommend specific supports or solutions.
  • Testing is completed over two to three sessions to limit factors, such as fatigue or irritability, which can impact testing results.
  • Testing through Gained Insight evaluates if extraneous factors, such as decreased motivation and difficulties with attention, may be impacting the child’s performance during testing.
  • Findings are discussed in detail with parents who decide with whom to share the information. None of the findings become part of insurance or school record without the parents’ consent.
  • Individualized feedback is provided directly to the parents. Dr. Nitz also provides parents with a thorough report including findings and recommendations. Separately from the parents, Dr. Nitz provides the child with feedback which is presented in a positive framework.
  • A plan of action is generated to support the child in both their school and home environments.
